‘Pegwell Bay today’ 45” x 59.5” acrylic 1975 (private collection) |

This painting makes a play with ‘Pegwell Bay’ by William Dyce and Christo’s ambitious projects. He still has to wrap the sea and the beach. The interest that I have in the original is a striking affinity it has to a snap shot: a moment caught and how this coincides with my observations about conceptual art and documentary photography of the time. This work was made for a show of parodies at the South Yarra Gallery in Australia that did not materialise |
