Henry Gallery                         

This exhibition took place after I had left the University of Washington where I had been the Visiting Professor in the Fine Art Department. I made a number of works during my time at the University and was able to explore ideas that I was having about the relationship of illusion to reality. This was inevitable if I was to continue to develop works that used the architectural situation to explore their form. In this case I explored the use of simple frames in an attempt to free the painted marks from the surface of the canvas. The exhibition in the Henry Gallery used the four large works for the show.
